Salvest Appoints a New CEO
21. Oct 2024
On October 14, Triin Kõrgmaa, the former CEO of AS Salvest, handed over her position to the new CEO. Jaanus Aal has now assumed the role of CEO at the company.
“Salvest has entered several new markets and expanded its product portfolio in recent years, for example, into the field of military ready-to-eat meal solutions. Now is the right moment to hand over the leadership to someone new, as the company continues its growth to new heights,” says Kõrgmaa.
Jaanus Aal has extensive experience in managing and exporting for various manufacturing companies. According to Aal, his main goal will be to maintain and strengthen strong position of Salvest in the Estonian market, while also aiming for growth in export markets.
“While Salvest is primarily known in Estonia for its soups, preserves, and baby food, the focus in export markets is on baby food and ready-to-eat meal solutions for the military sector. The latter is a rapidly growing segment, and I see great potential for Salvest here. Recently Salvest has won several international tenders, and there are additional potential collaboration projects on the table awaiting successful implementation. The home market will also remain a key focus, as it is and will continue to be primary market for Salvest,” Aal outlines his main objectives in the new role.
Aal acknowledges that entering new sectors comes with its nuances but adds: “Many of the challenges faced by manufacturing companies are actually quite similar. I see opportunities to apply my existing knowledge and experience in the food industry,” Aal stated.
